Hardness testing of stainless steel sheets is crucial. It is directly related to whether the material can meet the strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance required by the design, ensures the stability of the processing technology and the consistency of product batches, and helps enterprises comply with industry safety standards, reduce maintenance costs, and extend service life. By accurately controlling hardness, it can also support the research and development of new materials, adapt to the needs of diversified application scenarios, and avoid failures or safety accidents caused by substandard performance. It is a core link to ensure product quality, safety, and economy.
Here below are processes of testing HV value for the stainless steel sheet:

1.Grind and polish the sample to a bright surface using a metallographic sample grinding and polishing machine.

2.Place the polished stainless steel sheet on the thin sheet test stage equipped with the micro Vickers hardness tester and clamp the sheet tightly.

3.Place the thin sheet test stage on the workbench of micro Vickers hardness tester.

4.Adjust the focus of the micro Vickers hardness tester lens to the stainless steel sheet.

5.Select appropriate test force in the micro Vickers hardness tester.

6.Click Start button, then the micro Vickers hardness tester automatically enters loading -dwell -unloading process.

7.After unloading completed, a rhombic indentation display on the computer, click Auto Measurement button of the software of the micro Vickers hardness tester.

8.Then hardness value will be displayed in the software of the micro Vickers hardness tester,as the indentations will be automatically measured.
Above HV hardness value of the thin stainless steel sheet is tested by Model HVT-1000Z, which is the economic type of micro Vickers hardness tester in our company.
