During the use of Vickers hardness tester /micro Vickers hardness tester, when testing workpieces (especially thin and small workpieces), incorrect test methods can easily lead to large errors in the test results. In such cases, we need to observe the following conditions during workpiece test:
1.Whether the measured workpiece is stably placed on the workbench.
2.Whether the surface of the workpiece is flat.
3.Whether the support of the workpiece is reliable, without deformation or burrs.
For thin, small, or irregular workpieces, we can use sample clamps for the hardness tester according to the characteristics of the measured sample to make the operation convenient and efficient. Common hardness tester clamps include: XY coordinate platform clamps, thin shaft clamps, sheet clamps, small flat nose plier clamps, and V-shaped clamps. If the product type is single, special clamps can also be customized.
If the clamps still cannot stabilize the workpiece and ensure a flat surface, we need to prepare the workpiece into a sample to complete the hardness testing process. Auxiliary equipment for sample preparation includes metallographic cutting machines, metallographic mounting machines, and metallographic grinding and polishing machines.
