Introduction of Portable Leeb Hardness Tester

Nowadays, portable Leeb hardness testers are mostly used for on-site inspection of many workpieces. Let me introduce some common knowledge about Leeb hardness testers.

Leeb hardness test is a new hardness testing method proposed by Swiss Dr. Leeb in 1978.

Principle of Leeb hardness test: An impact body with a certain mass is impacted on the surface of the sample under a certain test force, and the impact speed and rebound speed of the impact body 1mm away from the sample surface are measured. Using the electromagnetic principle, the induced impact and The Leeb hardness value is calculated from the ratio of the rebound velocity, which is a dynamic testing method. (You can find a picture of this principle on the Internet)

So what kind of workpiece is the Leeb hardness tester suitable for?

Leeb hardness tester is a multifunctional hardness tester that can freely convert Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, and Shore hardness scales. However, it has requirements for the workpiece. Not all workpieces can use Leeb hardness scale. Hardness tester measurement to replace benchtop hardness tester. (This has a conversion interface for Leeb hardness tester)

Based on the measurement principle of the Leeb hardness tester and its portability, it is mainly suitable for (but not limited to) the measurement of the following workpieces:

A (1)

Mechanical or permanently assembled parts that are installed and cannot be removed

Workpieces with very small test space such as mold cavities (you need to pay attention to the space size when purchasing)

Large workpieces requiring rapid and batch inspection

Failure analysis of pressure vessels, turbine generators and other equipment.

Hardness control of production lines for bearings and other parts
