In the past long period, we quote foreign conversion tables to Chinese one, but during use , due to the chemical composition of the material, processing technology, the geometric size of the sample and other factors as well as the accuracy of measuring instruments in various countries , hardness and strength conversion relationship to establish the basis and data processing means are different , we found that there are large difference between the various conversion values. In addition, no unified standard, different country use the different conversion table, bringing confusion in the hardness and strength conversion values.
Since 1965, China Metrology Scientific Research and other units have established Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers and superficial Rockwell hardness benchmarks and force values on the basis of a large number of tests and analysis research, to explore the corresponding relationship between various hardness and strength of ferrous metals, through production verification. Developed our own "black metal hardness and strength conversion table" suitable for 9 steel series and regardless of steel grade. In the verification work, more than 100 units participated, a total of more than 3,000 samples were processed, and more than 30,000 data were measured.
The verification data are evenly distributed on both sides of the conversion curve, and the results are basically in line with normal distribution, that is, these conversion tables are basically in line with reality and available.
These conversion tables have been compared internationally with similar conversion tables of 10 countries, and the conversion values of our country are roughly the average of the conversion values of various countries.
