SCB-4.0 Five Stations Automatic Brinell Hardness Tester
This automatic Brinell hardness tester is integrated with a microcomputer and runs on the Windows system. It features automatic lifting of the lead screw and worktable, automatic switching between the hardness tester objective and indenter, automatic loading control, automatic focusing, and automatic measurement to obtain hardness values.
Through the touch screen operation, functions such as adjusting the light source brightness of the hardness tester, selecting the dwell time, controlling the turret of the objective and indenter, selecting the hardness scale (indenter and test force), and data processing can be realized. An XY automatic worktable is optional to realize automatic displacement of the workpiece.
Application Scope
Suitable for hardness testing of materials such as cast iron, steel, non-ferrous metals and soft alloys, as well as hardness testing of certain non-metallic materials. It can also be used to measure the hardness of some non-metallic materials including rigid plastics and bakelite.
With a wide range of applications, it is ideal for precision measurement on parallel planes and provides stable and reliable measurement on curved surfaces. It is widely used in factories, workshops, laboratories, colleges and universities as well as research institutions.
Hardness Tester Features
- Wide force range: 62.5–3000 kgf; equipped with 10 Brinell scales and 13 Brinell hardness test scales, suitable for Brinell hardness measurement of various metallic and non-metallic materials.
- Adopts an 8-inch touch screen and high-speed ARM processor, with intuitive display, friendly human-machine interaction and simple operation.
- Automatic Z-axis lifting; after placing the sample, one-key automatic lifting completes the whole process of indentation and hardness acquisition.
- Standard 5-station configuration (3 indenters, 2 objectives); objectives and indenters switch automatically according to the selected scale. The instrument measures and observes with the set indenter and objective, eliminating frequent indenter changes when testing different specimens and avoiding indenter damage caused by mismatched indenters and test forces.
- Closed-loop electric loading control with automatic load application.
- Test process is computer-controlled, reducing dependence on manual operation.
- Built-in analysis system for data storage and analysis.

System Functions
Indentation Measurement: The measuring part of this hardness tester adopts computer digital image software processing technology. Relying on image processing algorithms and making full use of the computer’s cloud computing capability for image data, it performs automatic dynamic real-time measurement and calculation, enabling accurate and reliable measurement of Brinell hardness values. This eliminates the influence of operators on Brinell hardness image measurement and improves measurement accuracy, reliability and working efficiency.
Software Functions: The operating system is an intelligent image processing and analysis software developed with flexible testing technology. It features simple operation, clear interface and no visual error. It can display indentation images, set dwell time, test force, objective lens and indenter selection, perform distance measurement, convert hardness values, output test reports, and provide data statistics (upper and lower limits, average value, indentation diameter, maximum value, minimum value, test counts, etc.). It supports automatic recording of parameter input and real-time display of measurement parameters. Test parameters and results can be managed via WORD or EXCEL.
Measurement Modes: Indentation measurement includes fully automatic measurement, circle-drawing measurement and line-locking measurement.
Hardness Conversion: Measured Brinell hardness values can be converted to other hardness scales according to American or international standards, such as HV, HRA, HRB, HRC, HR15N, HR30N, HR45N, HR15T, HR30T, HR45T, etc.
Statistical Results: Maximum value, minimum value, average value, standard deviation, Cp, Cpk and other data are generated automatically. Out-of-range values against upper and lower limits will be marked automatically.
Test Report: The software automatically generates test reports in Microsoft Word format, including measurement data, statistical results and measurement images.
